TREVISO

Treviso

Treviso is a small, very beautiful town. You can reach it from Vittorio Veneto in only 30 minutes (by car or by train). It is impossible not to take a stroll in this beautiful town that has anything! History, art, good food and opportunities for relaxation. Full of beautiful shops for shopping and in the afternoon there are plenty of picturesque corners where you can have an aperitif before dinner. There are numerous characteristic bars and restaurants serving their specialities, and one that I really like is the ‘Vecia Hosteria dai Naneti’.

Treviso you’ll find it very characteristic, especially the architectural style of the buildings and palaces, the Palazzo dei Trecento in Piazza dei Signori is the most beautiful attraction with a Romanesque style rebuilt after 1944.

Also worth seeing are the Piazza San Vito, the Fontana delle Tette, the Isola della Pescheria and the Canale dei Buranelli.

The river Sile flows through the city, collecting water from the numerous irrigation canals that make it picturesque and evocative. The still functioning mill wheels, located at various points along the canals that criss-cross the oldest part of the town, recall ancient activities and trades connected to the area. There is a serene, non-frenetic atmosphere, and a walk under the arcades is a must.

Treviso transmits an air of tranquility that very few provincial capitals manage to give, even the most beautiful and rich in art.

The city in question can be visited easily in a day. Both the centre and the walls are really clean and well maintained. Another positive point; there are lots of designer shops, bars and restaurants overlooking the waterway. I recommend visiting Treviso, you’ll be delighted!
