CONEGLIANO
Conegliano is located in the foothills of the Trevisan Pre-Alps, just 10 kilometres from Vittorio Veneto. The city is known as the birthplace of the famous Italian painter Giambattista Cima. His magnificent altarpiece depicting the ‘Sacred Conversation’ can still be admired in the cathedral.
The historical centre, the ancient Contrada Granda, built mainly along Via XX Settembre and Piazza Cima. It houses numerous Renaissance palaces with carved stone decorations and frescoes.

On the hills, close to Piazza Cima, rises the Castle. The castle can be reached through suggestive pedestrian paths along the ancient Carraresi walls. It is the symbol of Conegliano in a panoramic position. From there one can have a view of the wide foothills, the Unesco heritage site, the Dolomites and the Venice lagoon.
Inside the castle park is a very nice bar-restaurant (Al Castello) with a wonderful view. Definitely worth a visit. The restaurant has been run for 50 years by the same person with such dedication and love.

Conegliano hosts numerous events, which animate the historic centre throughout the year. One of the most significant is the “Dama Castellana”, in June, in which the charm of ancient feuds between knights, ready to compete for damsels and manors, is recreated.
